now i know how the old woman in the shoe felt (a quatrain)
There was a middle-aged woman
who was always at home.
She had so many children
she was never alone.
I always thought this was Ogden Nash, turns out it (and its sequel) was written by Gelett Burgess.
I never saw a purple cow,
I never hope to see one;
But I can tell you, anyhow,
I'd rather see than be one.
Ah, yes, I wrote the "Purple Cow"
I'm sorry, now, I wrote it!
But I can tell you, anyhow,
I'll kill you if you quote it.
